About the Government Blockchain Association

The Government Blockchain Association (GBA) is an international nonprofit professional organization that connects government entities with blockchain technology solutions and experts. It facilitates the adoption of blockchain in the public sector by providing resources, education, networking, and training, with a focus on improving government transparency, efficiency, and security.


The GBA offers waived membership fees for civil servants and works with members from government, technology, and regulatory sectors, including a role in developing standards and models like the Blockchain Maturity Model (BMM).

    Frederic is an established expert in blockchain, AI, and cloud computing, with a strong focus on technology standards. As CEO of Prometheus Computing, his work centers on architecting secure data sharing solutions and building trusted systems. His career includes a notable tenure at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), where he played a key role in developing cloud computing programs and cyber-physical system guidelines. Frederic is actively involved in setting industry benchmarks, serving as co-chair and leading research within influential bodies such as the IEEE Blockchain Initiative and the HIMSS Blockchain Task Force.

    Heather is an applied futurist, policy and patient advocate, and complex systems theorist. She is Chair of the Healthcare & Life Sciences Working Group at the Government Blockchain Association (GBA), Chair of the Washington, DC Chapter of AI 2030, develops standards at IEEE, and serves as the Women Economic Forum G100 USA Northeast Regional Chair for Humanity, Technology & Innovation. Prior to her current role, Heather was the Founder and CEO at Consensys Health (later Equideum Health), which focused on blockchain-facilitated decentralized AI, federated machine learning, privacy enhancing technologies, and web3 identity for granular consent.

    Chief of Staff & Ecosystem Development Lead, AI MINDSystems Impact
    Zan's experience spans geographies from Silicon Valley to South America and centers on healthcare technology, financial incentives, and strategic communications. He was Co-Founder and Head of Partnerships for Public Good Pharma, designing self-funding clinical trials. Zan advised foreign digital health startups and facilitated US market entry as Head of Life Science & Healthcare Partnerships at the Israeli Trade & Innovation office in San Francisco. He is a movement instructor and brings embodied expression in building cross-cultural trust.
